BILLYBARTOS IS NOW INACTIVE
New Headworld/Art/Gift Art blog!

Everything that this blog was will now be posted there. Billybartos will be inactive. The plus side is that this time things will be TAGGED. And I will probably post less ‘crap’ in general.
I may be making a new tumblr soon to post all my art/headworld stuff on. I hate to do that when this one has so many people already settled XD but I never tagged my posts from the start. And so many are obselete now.
Cross-post from DA,
Howdy!
Unless I ask you personally, please don’t make suggestions on my developing headworlds and characters. When you do, it makes me feel like I can’t use those suggestions, even if I was already thinking of a similar idea, and I become very discouraged. I appreciate the thought, but please try to understand. Let me do this myself. Thank you.
I realize I have been giving mixed messages when I post long entries on tumblr about my headworld. I appreciate that you want to be helpful and involved, and it tickles me pink that you’re interested enough in my headworld to take the time to MAKE a suggestion, but I’m not yet comfortable with the idea of taking them from strangers. I reserve that for people I’m familiar with.
I’m guilty of it too, when I think back on how many times I’ve thrown unasked for suggestions at Wyrd and Beast.
What you CAN do:
- Share real world cultures, mythologies and practices. Just let me investigate them on my own, don’t add the extra creative flare or relate them to my material. A note dropped with ‘hay! This ___ is cool’ is more than enough.
- Fix my anatomy/history errors - I never have issue with constructive critique about my art.
AAaaahh I got two more books in the mail today. I had no idea griffins were so present in Scythian art. They’re all something to look at.
I’m starting to see the progression of Hhoota from it’s place of origin into Europe. It most likely came with steppes horses from the east, to be encountered (in fragments) by Marmar first in Massalia, or another port that has done trade with Massalia, and later in the celtic region. He can literally follow a broken trail across the continent that gets thicker as he goes farther east, shadowing what remains of the mythology. Probably not purposefully at first.
I always draw parts of Gale’s face wrong. How that is still happening is lost to me.
His face has been off model since.. 09? XD It recently came full circle and starting going back to the way it ought to be.
That irritates the shit out of me I should have more consistency than that by now.
